About Us
— Organization
SISDEV was founded in 2003 as a Not for profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The aim of the organization is to assist low-income and marginalized individuals, and groups, to build their capacity through support of a range of programmes and projects for self-empowerment. Based on the above aim, the founder was passionately inspired to commit to the principle of self-help to self-reliant, on the premise that in order to sustain a secured, stable, none violence, justice and peaceful Niger Delta region; where respect for human rights, equity, law and order are upheld; the citizens must be empowered and capable to make informed decisions and right choices; through knowledge based awareness creation, sensitization and education for sustainable development, social reforms, transparent inclusive governance and democratic principles.
— Our Purpose
SISDEV works to support the governments, multilateral organizations, international donor agencies etc, to serve the needs of the rural people. Following the poor and unsustainable resources management, in Nigeria which led to a steady collapse of the purchasing power of the average Nigerian and worst hit being the rural dwellers whose income falls below sustainable level, poverty and ignorance have become manifest, evidenced in the alarming problems of malnutrition, large family size, poor health care, crude agricultural practices and general lack of basic infrastructures as indices of poor governance. The need for intervention especially for the rural dwellers becomes very necessary, and hence our purpose.
Our Goal
An improved social and economic well-being of the society for a peaceful and Sustainable Development.
Our Vision
An informed, equitable and socially transformed society.
